Government Polytechnic, Pilibhit is one of the best polytechnic colleges in Uttar Pradesh, especially in Rohilkhand region providing three year engineering diploma in various streams. The polytechnic was established in 1989 and started functioning in the temporary accommodation from July 1989 with only one engineering stream of electronics engineering.

The polytechnic college was shifted to its newly constructed building during session 1998-99 and from session 2008-09, two more streams were added in Electrical Engg and Instrumentation & Control Engg. At present, all the courses are affiliated to Board of Technical Education, U.P. and are approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It is the most prestigious technical institution of learning in district Pilibhit and is running with innovation, creativity and human intelligence. The mission of this institute is “from knowledge to wisdom”. Apart from main diploma courses, central and state sponsored schemes related to skill development is also being run by the institute.

The present campus has vast area measuring 10.61 Acres, a part of which is covered by Main Building having administrative block, Department of Electronics Engg, Instrumentation & Control Engg, Electrical Engg, Library, Computer and other laboratories. Also, the campus has workshops, N.C.C. block, Girl’s Hostel building, Canteen, Dispensary, Playgrounds, Guest House & Residences and sufficient open space for future extension. The campus is made safe and secured 24x7 by presence of PRD jawans and CCTV cameras.
